Following is what mothers
"I was full of shame and guilt following the suicide of my only son, I felt isolated and alone and spent my days curled up in bed. My son's ashes where in a cardboard box, which was all I could afford. My only daughter lost her brother who was her hero. Her friends were uncomfortable and withdrew. A year had passed and nothing was changing. Then we found Heavenly Hope and Healing and everything changed! "
"While attending a conference at the Glen Eyrie Castle I met other moms who understood! I was handed tools to help me deal with my grief. I honored my son through a butterfly release and wearing his picture button all day. The speakers, Circles of Love, and Candlelight ceremony were all so meaningful. I experienced Heavenly Hope through the scriptures and music.
We are so blessed that you are taking the time to consider our mission!
By way of introduction we are a team of Moms and Dads that have lost children. Having slogged through this dark valley we are acutely aware of the additional burdens moms are suddenly faced with, that are not on the general public's radar. In fact we have found that people we approach are often uncomfortable discussing these situations or just find it “depressing” to talk about.
We are “moms and dads on a mission” to increase the awareness of the needs of these moms whose voices are too weak to reach out and ask for assistance.
As a voice and an “insider” we are volunteering our time to provide resources that are proving extremely helpful and comforting for grieving moms.
The scripture says “Blessed be the God of all comfort, who comforts us in our affliction so that we may comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort which we ourselves have been comforted..” II Corinthians 1:3-6 It’s on God’s Heart and it’s on our hearts.
Suicide in El paso county is the highest in the nation. People are pouring money into resources into why this is happening and prevention. However the moms and dads of these victims are left in the wake and few are reaching out to them. Recently an Air Force Cadet took his life and within weeks his mother did the same. Unfortunately this is not an uncommon occurrence .
Please consider partnering with us in this endeavor .
95% of all donations go to help these moms and dads here locally at some level.
